Allie’s Best Card for April 2015

Royal? Cerulean? Indigo? Cobalt? Regardless of what you want to call them, bright blues are HOT right now for bar and bat mitzvahs. It is also a popular color for girl and boy b’nai mitzvahs. We combined blue with neutrals white and grey for Matthew’s bar mitzvah invitation suite above.

The main invitation is printed on blue acrylic with an all-over coating of smoke grey ink, leaving the name clear to let the custom liner shine through as it emerges from the envelope. The custom liner is a pattern of logos, text and icons that represent Matthew’s favorite sports, cities and interests.

We  mixed different materials and printing methods throughout set, but kept it cohesive with color and typography. We had the privilege of working on this set with retailer  Precious Papers in West Harrison, New York.

Allie’s Best Card for March 2015

This week we are sharing a Bat Mitzvah invitation designed with typography and texture in mind. This oversized invitation included ceremony, party, reply and direction details, so there was a lot of text! The blend of sans-fonts in varying scale were divided into different sections to keep it organized and easy-to-read. We kept the layout modern to let the texture of the gloss white ink pressed into brushed aluminum paper shine through.

For added details, we backed the piece in pink silk paper and created a matching address labels for the white 5″ x 13″ envelope.

This modern Bat Mitzvah invitation suite was designed with retailer E.A.F Fine Papers in New York City.

Allie’s Best Card for July 2014

This dreamy Bat Mitzvah invitation suite was designed with retailer Proper Notice in East Hills, New York.

We wanted to mix formality with youthful fun, so the main invitation has metallic gold ink printed on hot pink, translucent acrylic.  Coordinating insert cards, thank you notes and envelopes were created in the reverse color way of magenta foil on pale gold, shimmer paper. The swirly thick script combined with a thin, modern body text creates a striking contrast in style and scale.

Thank you to Amanda and her family and of course, Proper Notice for choosing us to create this set for your big day.

Allie’s Best Card for May 2014

This month we are sharing one of our favorites for girly-girls, an invitation ordered through Jenny’s Paper Ink in Atlanta, Georgia.

This one is truly custom! We printed on white flexible plastic with raspberry ink and a hot pink glitter overlay on her name to add a touch of sparkle. To top that off, we die cut the oversized invitation into her name and sent in a heavy weight envelope. A pairing of san serif type with a feminine swirly script kept the design fun, yet modern.

We had fun creating a baseball themed B’Nai Mitvah invitation with E.A.F. Fine Papers in New York City. Twins Garett and Trevor picked a true baseball lover’s invitation with vintage style.

The invitation, return address seal and thank you card are letterpress printed on recycled chipboard in deep red ink. The custom printed grass pattern on the inside of the pouchette suggests a baseball diamond, very fitting for a party held at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.

Batter up!

Allie’s Best Card for February 2014

We’re feeling in the pink from working on this Bat Mitzvah invitation, ordered through The Party Package in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

For this set, the phrase “The beauty is the details” says it all. We mounted an engraved, dark grey invitation on the front of a thick board, backed it in dark grey paper and then edged it in hot pink ink to match the name. The set was completed with a hot pink heavy weight envelope lined in matching grey paper. The combination of dark grey paper, white clean type and a hot pink script name created a mix of modern elegance and youthful femininity.

It was such a pleasure working on this beauty, until next time!
