Allie’s Best Card for May 2014

This month we are sharing one of our favorites for girly-girls, an invitation ordered through Jenny’s Paper Ink in Atlanta, Georgia.

This one is truly custom! We printed on white flexible plastic with raspberry ink and a hot pink glitter overlay on her name to add a touch of sparkle. To top that off, we die cut the oversized invitation into her name and sent in a heavy weight envelope. A pairing of san serif type with a feminine swirly script kept the design fun, yet modern.

Allie’s Best Card for April 2014

baseball blog post_March2014-2

We had fun creating a baseball themed B’Nai Mitvah invitation with E.A.F. Fine Papers in New York City. Twins Garett and Trevor picked a true baseball lover’s invitation with vintage style.

The invitation, return address seal and thank you card are letterpress printed on recycled chipboard in deep red ink. The custom printed grass pattern on the inside of the pouchette suggests a baseball diamond, very fitting for a party held at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.

Batter up!

This 6″ round holiday party invitation is printed with white ink on frosted flexible plastic. Send it out in style with a silver square envelope.

He popped the question and she said yes!

The date and place are set, now what?  Spread the word, it is time to send a save the date card…but why?Giving guests advanced notice makes it more likely your loved ones can be there on the big day. Guests traveling from out of town have time to look for airline and hotel specials, request vacation time, apply for a Visa if they are coming from another country or possibly plan a more extended vacation around your wedding.  Most save the dates go out 6-9 months before the wedding.
Save the date cards should include:
• the couple’s names
• the date
• the city, state, and
• a message indicating that an invitation will follow
Other information you might want to include are:
• prompt such as ‘save the date’ or ‘mark your calendar’
• wedding website address
• hotel information
• date of the rehearsal dinner, brunch or other planned activities around the wedding (if everyone who will receive this is included)If you want to keep it simple but give detailed information, send people to your website. It can be updated as the information is finalized.
Who do I send it to?
You can choose to send to all your guests or to out of town guests only.  For destination weddings, send them to everyone. If you guest list is not final, make sure you only send to people you know you will invite.  You can always send an invitation later to someone who did not receive a save the date card, but not the other way around!  Just keep in mind if you send to out of town guests only, they might tell a local guests that they received it.
What should it look like?
Save the dates are a chance to announce your big news in a way that fits the betrothed couple’s style.  It can be whimsical, classic, tell your story, reflect the location of your wedding, include a photograph or be a simple card that is a preview to your invitation.  Many couples use it as a chance to send a fun, creative announcement when they want to follow it up with a more traditional invitation.Check out for some of our favorite save the date samples.
Best wishes,

Karina and Jonathan-Spring Wedding

We are at the peak of South Florida wedding season and there are many beautiful spring events taking place as we speak (write). Last month one of our very own, designer extraordinaire Karina Cossio married Jonathan Davila!  They had a touching outdoor ceremony on the edge of Biscayne Bay followed by a brunch reception in a lovely rustic space that created the perfect backdrop to their fresh white and yellow decor.  The newlyweds honeymooned in Paris.

Karina designed the invitations and stationery herself (of course).  Check out their ‘heartfelt’ sign in sheet!  Like what you see?  You are in luck, her charming design will be featured in Allie Munroe’s newest collection previewing in May at the National Stationery Show as part of our new Events collection.

Thier invitation was a clean, modern design which included blind letterpress printed stripes and beautiful silver typography.  Natural twine tied the set together while yellow and grey envelopes added a pop of color to complete the look.

Karina and Jonathan’s invitation set the tone for all details of the event.

We would love to hear from you!  Au revoir!

Allie’s Best Card for May 2012

Happy Wednesday! Take a look our ABC (Allie’s Best card) for May. This urban funk invitation was for a Bar Mitzvah and came to us from Karla Conceptual Event Experiences, one of our favorite event  planning companies which happens to be in our hometown, Miami. The main invitation was printed on two sides of plastic and coordinating silver cards keep the set elegant enough for Mom and Dad’s friends.  If I was 13, I’d definitely want an invitation like this!
