Allie’s Best Card for September 2014

Planning a tropical get-a-way wedding? How about this modern, wedding invitation celebrating John & Chad’s destination wedding? It was ordered through Signed and Sealed by Steph in Denver, Colorado.

We printed a custom monogram, tropical palms and clean typography in white and green ink on acrylic. The palms were carried through the set with different graphic treatments to be consistent without being too repetitive. To complete the set, we paired the modern themed invite with a rich, brown envelope with coordinating silky lime green liner.

Aloha!

Allie’s Best Card for August 2014

This invitation makes us want to run away and join the circus! We designed this set with one of our local retailers, Paperazzi in Weston, Florida.

This whimsical invitation was printed on white flexible plastic, and designed by combining traditional and decorative fonts to set the mood of the party while maintaining an upscale feel. A bright red envelope, paired with a sparkly gold glitter liner and gold wrap label, makes a great first impression.

Allie’s Best Card for July 2014

This dreamy Bat Mitzvah invitation suite was designed with retailer Proper Notice in East Hills, New York.

We wanted to mix formality with youthful fun, so the main invitation has metallic gold ink printed on hot pink, translucent acrylic.  Coordinating insert cards, thank you notes and envelopes were created in the reverse color way of magenta foil on pale gold, shimmer paper. The swirly thick script combined with a thin, modern body text creates a striking contrast in style and scale.

Thank you to Amanda and her family and of course, Proper Notice for choosing us to create this set for your big day.

Allie’s Best Card for May 2014

This month we are sharing one of our favorites for girly-girls, an invitation ordered through Jenny’s Paper Ink in Atlanta, Georgia.

This one is truly custom! We printed on white flexible plastic with raspberry ink and a hot pink glitter overlay on her name to add a touch of sparkle. To top that off, we die cut the oversized invitation into her name and sent in a heavy weight envelope. A pairing of san serif type with a feminine swirly script kept the design fun, yet modern.

Allie’s Best Card for April 2014

baseball blog post_March2014-2

We had fun creating a baseball themed B’Nai Mitvah invitation with E.A.F. Fine Papers in New York City. Twins Garett and Trevor picked a true baseball lover’s invitation with vintage style.

The invitation, return address seal and thank you card are letterpress printed on recycled chipboard in deep red ink. The custom printed grass pattern on the inside of the pouchette suggests a baseball diamond, very fitting for a party held at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.

Batter up!

CHARLIE blog post_March2014

Grey invitations are HOT!  We designed Charlie’s Bar Mitzvah invitation with E.A.F. Fine Papers in New York City.

It is printed on flexible plastic with an all-over coating of smoke grey, leaving clear text that lets the bright liner shine through as it emerges from the envelope. When designing the set, we had fun mixing typography into an angled layout printed on a square format.

We love the rich variation in tones from the various grey materials in the suite, but thought it needed a little pop.  Adding a liner of shocking green kept it young and fun for a 13-year-old boy.

We hope you like it too!

Allie’s Best Card for February 2014

rachel blog post_Feb2014_2

We’re feeling in the pink from working on this Bat Mitzvah invitation, ordered through The Party Package in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

For this set, the phrase “The beauty is the details” says it all. We mounted an engraved, dark grey invitation on the front of a thick board, backed it in dark grey paper and then edged it in hot pink ink to match the name. The set was completed with a hot pink heavy weight envelope lined in matching grey paper. The combination of dark grey paper, white clean type and a hot pink script name created a mix of modern elegance and youthful femininity.

It was such a pleasure working on this beauty, until next time!

Allie’s Best Card for January 2014

This month we are sharing two of our recent favorites created with retailer The Write Invite in Dallas, Texas.

We are loving this “happy” photo card. Designed for a very special family, it is an oversized thick board with a modern “happy” foil stamped across the front side, and three photos and family names on the back. Matching aqua foil edges complete the look. You cannot help but feel happy as you pull it out of a large, 5″ x 13″ aqua blue envelope.

Our second card is a white flexible, plastic card with a sweet message, “Wishing you flurries of fun this Holiday Season” printed in aqua blue glitter. We really wanted the design to feel festive for the holidays, so we added extra swirls to a beautiful script greeting. A photo was mounted to the back with a glitter border for some added glitz.

Two great ways to send lots of happy vibes to friends and family! Which one is your favorite?

XOXO, allie

Every December, Miami comes alive for Art Basel as thousands of art collectors and enthusiasts from all over the globe fill Miami to attend art openings and parties inspired by art. This December, it was an honor to create an invitation to The Facets of Art presented by Fendi. We kept the design simple and let the details make the big impression. The invitation is letterpress printed on thick, rigid board with gold ink and beveled with matching metallic ink. We complimented the look with a sophisticated shimmer gold envelope.

Fendi, it was a pleasure creating this invitation for your fabulous event! Wishing everyone a Happy Holidays, see you in 2014!
